Bessent urges Senate to immediately vote on Clarity Act

July 30, 2026, 5:07 PM
U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said on X that the U.S. Senate should immediately hold a vote on the Clarity Act. Bessent said more than a year has passed since the House approved the Clarity Act, and while there has been progress since then, it is disappointing that Democrats continue to make a political choice as the United States stands on the verge of a win that could strengthen its leadership in the crypto industry. He added that many Democratic lawmakers have received millions of dollars in funding from the crypto industry. Bessent said the United States would lead the industry if the Clarity Act passes, but would not if it fails to pass. He also invoked Satoshi’s words, saying, "If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry."
