Telegram CEO says Russia labeled him a terrorist over censorship refusal

Telegram CEO Pavel Durov said on his channel that Russia had designated him a terrorist after he refused demands for mass surveillance and censorship of Telegram. Durov also criticized what he described as a ban under Russian law on posting information online, adding that Russian officials appeared to be confused about who can block whom on the internet.
