BitGo to replace LayerZero with Chainlink CCIP for WBTC cross-chain infrastructure

BitGo will replace LayerZero with Chainlink’s CCIP as the exclusive cross-chain infrastructure provider for Wrapped Bitcoin, moving about $15 billion worth of WBTC from LayerZero to Chainlink, CoinDesk reported. The switch is part of a security-focused move taken after a $292 million hack involving KelpDAO’s LayerZero-based bridge earlier this year.
