U.S. Senate reviews adding sports-betting jurisdiction language to Clarity Act
As the U.S. Senate moves this week to accelerate progress on the Clarity Act, regional gaming regulators and some lawmakers are considering adding language to preserve state and tribal government jurisdiction over sports betting, The Block reported. During a Senate roundtable, Sen. Tina Smith proposed including the language in the Clarity Act or the Farm Bill, while Sen. John Boozman opposed linking prediction markets to cryptocurrency-related legislation.
