Senate Banking chair says CLARITY vote possible before August recess
August 06, 2026, 3:49 PM
Senate Banking Committee Chairman Tim Scott said a Senate vote on the CLARITY Act could be completed before the August recess. In an interview with Fox Business, Scott said there was no doubt a vote would take place this week, adding that he would remain in the Senate for at least two more days, Republicans were unifying, and Democratic votes would also be brought in. Scott said the CLARITY Act would protect consumers while driving innovation in the United States, and added that President Donald Trump’s acceptance of an ethics provision was unprecedented and marked progress. Scott has argued since May that the bill could move forward.
