Brazil’s cryptocurrency market is entering a full-fledged regulatory phase, according to an analysis by blockchain security firm CertiK.
As the Oct. 30 deadline set by Brazil’s central bank for virtual asset service provider, or PSAV, license applications approaches, local companies are ramping up efforts to strengthen regulatory compliance systems, CertiK said. Independent third-party compliance and security certifications are also shifting from an industry best practice to a key requirement for market entry, the firm added. Brazil ranks fifth globally in real-world crypto usage, with $318.8 billion in on-chain asset inflows recorded between June 2024 and June 2025, equivalent to one-third of all on-chain activity in South America during the same period.
