Cardano unveils 'Dijkstra' hard fork roadmap, targets Q4 2026 code completion Layer-one blockchain Cardano (ADA) has released a phased hard fork roadmap for the Dijkstra Era through its official channel. The first phase targets completion of code development by the fourth quarter of 2026 and the end of preparations for a mainnet upgrade. The process is set to include an upgrade of the protocol to version 12 and the introduction of related features. The second phase targets activation of Ouroboros Peras through an internal hard fork in the second quarter of 2027, with the aim of increasing transaction finality speed. Cardano added, however, that the timeline targets code completion and mainnet launch readiness, while actual mainnet deployment will require approval through on-chain governance.
