BitMart founder threatens police action over wage, withdrawal allegations

August 17, 2026, 9:59 AM
BitMart founder Sheldon Xia said he plans to report employees to police after they publicly raised allegations over unpaid wages and user withdrawal issues during the exchange’s shutdown process, according to The Block. Xia called the allegations raised by employees "fabricated rumors" and said he also plans to request data forensics materials from X to verify the facts. BitMart had earlier faced controversy over delayed user withdrawals and unpaid staff wages after suspending operations. Xia had also denied recent allegations that he had disappeared or misused assets, saying the core team was conducting asset checks and system maintenance.
