CEX stock perp volume jumps 79-fold from start of 2026

Weekly trading volume in stock-linked perpetual futures on centralized exchanges reached $141.84 billion as of Aug. 16, up about 79-fold from $1.8 billion at the start of 2026, according to the Wu Blockchain Data Center. Trading was concentrated in stock-linked assets including SNDK, SK Hynix (SKHYNIX) and SPCX. Over the same period, weekly open interest also rose to $8.29 billion from $89 million, marking an increase of about 93-fold from the start of the year.
