Shibarium burns hundreds of millions of SHIB despite lower network activity

Shiba Inu ecosystem contributor Mazrael said Shibarium’s fee-based SHIB burn mechanism has continued to operate normally despite weaker network activity in recent weeks, with hundreds of millions of SHIB burned over that period. On Shibarium, part of transaction fees generated in BONE, the network’s gas token, is used to automatically burn SHIB through the ShibTorch burn system. Mazrael added the burns have continued even if they have not drawn much attention. Separately, around 143.92 million SHIB was burned across the broader Shiba Inu ecosystem over the past seven days, while about 4.75 million SHIB was burned over the past 24 hours.
