Tether pursues AI apps for emerging markets, focusing on healthcare and finance

Tether is expanding beyond financial services into technology and infrastructure and is developing artificial intelligence applications targeting emerging markets, Fortune reported, citing CEO Paolo Ardoino.
The company is reviewing healthcare, finance and sports as key focus areas. Ardoino said Tether plans to build lightweight AI models that can run directly on smartphones so they can be used in regions with limited internet or computing infrastructure. The company did not disclose specific business models or launch timelines. Ardoino added Tether’s global user base has surpassed 650 million.
