Harmony seeks blockchain rollback to pre-Aug. 11 state after counterfeit ONE attack

Harmony plans to roll back its blockchain to the state before the Aug. 11 attack after a malicious exploit led to the large-scale minting of counterfeit ONE tokens, The Block reported.
During the attack, a specific wallet moved about 2.4 trillion ONE in less than two minutes. Harmony said it traced the movement of most of the forged tokens, but isolating or burning only those holdings without affecting legitimate assets was not possible. The company said a full fixed rollback to the pre-attack state was the fairest and safest solution, while warning that legitimate transactions made after Aug. 11 could also be affected if the rollback goes ahead.
