September 02, 2026, 4:11 PM
World, formerly Worldcoin, has open-sourced ProveKit, its zero-knowledge identity verification development toolkit used for World ID, The Block reported. The release allows external developers to build applications that can verify a user’s age, nationality, and whether the user holds an ID document without exposing personal information. The current v1 is optimized for offchain verification, including on servers and mobile devices. In a future v2 release, World plans to reduce proof size and generation time and explore support for the Groth16 zk-SNARK scheme to enable more efficient onchain verification on World Chain, Ethereum, Base, and Solana.
