Solana v1 transaction upgrade raises infrastructure compatibility concerns
September 04, 2026, 11:49 PM
CryptoSlate reported that compatibility concerns have emerged at some infrastructure providers ahead of Solana’s planned mainnet rollout of the v1 transaction format, which expands the maximum transaction size from 1,232 bytes to 4,096 bytes. RPC clients, indexers, and other infrastructure that have not been updated to support v1 could encounter errors or stop functioning while reading blocks containing v1 transactions. V1 has already been applied on testnet and devnet, but as of Sept. 4 it had not yet been activated on mainnet.
