BTC.top founder says he took profit on BTC short and bought ETH spot

September 07, 2026, 10:14 AM
Zhuoer Jiang, founder of mining pool BTC.top and a blockchain entrepreneur with Chinese roots, said on X that he took profit on a Bitcoin short opened at $82,050 and closed at $79,480, then reinvested the full proceeds into Ether spot. Jiang had previously said ETH was the main driver of the current bull market and could lead broader gains, while BTC could also rise alongside it. Jiang also said inflows were continuing, with a record $730 million in net inflows into crypto ETFs over the past three days, and added that the short position was intended only as a short-term trade. Jiang said BTC would likely struggle to break through the $83,000-$84,000 resistance zone in the near term.
