Lummis says crypto market structure push may not return until 2030 without CLARITY Act
September 07, 2026, 1:21 AM
Pro-crypto Republican U.S. Sen. Cynthia Lummis argued that if the CLARITY Act fails to pass during the current congressional session, the next chance to advance a crypto market structure bill like it may not come until 2030. In a post on X, Lummis used the English phrase "if we don't pass this bill now" and stressed the U.S. would lose for years an opportunity to create jobs, attract investment and secure tax revenue.
Meanwhile, the U.S. Senate is set to hold a cloture vote on Sept. 15 to move forward with debate on the bill. The measure will need 60 votes to pass.
