Ex-federal prosecutor says US crypto market structure bill is effectively dead

Renato Mariotti, a cryptocurrency lawyer and former U.S. federal prosecutor, said in an interview with CoinDesk that after recently speaking with lawmakers and congressional staff in Washington, the Clarity bill appears to be effectively dead. Mariotti said Congress has begun moving beyond earlier discussions and is now exploring new alternatives and regulatory directions as the bill’s chances of passage have faded.
