Circle adds prepaid fees for USDC cross-chain transfers

Circle, the issuer of the world’s second-largest stablecoin USDC, announced the addition of prepaid fees for USDC cross-chain transfers. The feature allows users to pay fees in advance on Circle’s Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol, or CCTP. Circle said protocol fees were previously deducted from transferred USDC on the destination chain, but can now be paid upfront in the source chain’s native gas token or in USDC. The feature is available for USDC transfers between all EVM chains supported by CCTP.
