Hardware wallet maker Trezor warned users to watch for fake security alert phishing emails after a third-party email service provider was hacked, Cointelegraph reported. Trezor said it is investigating the incident and urged users not to click links included in the emails.
The phishing messages falsely claimed a critical security vulnerability had been found in the STM32 microcontroller used in Trezor devices. A similar phishing incident previously occurred at Swiss hardware wallet company BitBox.
