South Korea’s Fair Trade Commission sees no conflict between limits on equity ownership in digital asset exchanges and the Fair Trade Act, Digital Asset reported. According to material the National Assembly Research Service submitted today to the office of Democratic Party lawmaker Park Min-gyu, the commission said the Fair Trade Act is designed to align ownership and responsibility within holding company structures, while ownership caps on digital asset exchanges aim to ensure fairness through dispersed ownership given the industry’s characteristics, making it difficult to view the two as being in legal conflict.
