U.S. Democratic senator says CLARITY Act will not fail
September 15, 2026, 7:57 PM
After a cloture vote to advance the CLARITY Act failed on the U.S. Senate floor, Democratic Sen. Angela Alsobrooks said the bill would not be derailed, according to Eleanor Terrett, host of the U.S. podcast 'Crypto in America.'
Alsobrooks added, "7000만 명이 넘는 미국인이 규제되지 않는 산업에 참여하고 있다. 우리에게는 이를 규제할 책임이 있다" and argued Republican leaders forced today’s vote while refusing to hold President Donald Trump accountable over what Alsobrooks described as corruption in the crypto industry. Alsobrooks said Republicans were playing political games. In May, Alsobrooks was one of two Democratic senators on the Senate Banking Committee who voted to move the CLARITY Act to the full Senate for debate, but voted against it in this round.
