Japan’s Financial Services Agency is moving to apply on-chain finance to real-world financial services and infrastructure, CoinPost reported.
In its fiscal 2026 financial administration policy, the agency said it will review technical, regulatory and supervisory issues through public-private pilot programs and consultations while ensuring user protection and financial system stability. To support the effort, it plans to set up an on-chain finance forum in line with the AI era and discuss ways to introduce on-chain finance. It also plans to promote the adoption of on-chain payment methods and links with existing financial infrastructure, while reviewing shorter securities settlement periods and system upgrades with industry officials in preparation for broader asset tokenization.
