Metaplanet top shareholder loses major-shareholder status after stake sale

Capital Research and Management Company, the largest shareholder of Japan-listed BTC-buying company Metaplanet, has lost its status as a major shareholder after cutting its stake and seeing its voting-rights ratio fall below 10%, according to a Metaplanet filing. The firm still remains Metaplanet’s largest shareholder. Its holdings fell by 10,603,300 shares to 125,455,820 on Sept. 8 from 136,059,120 on July 13, while its voting-rights ratio declined to 9.32% from 10.63%.
