Blockchain Association CEO to step down; Kristin Smith to return as interim chief

Summer Mersinger, CEO of the Blockchain Association, will step down on Oct. 16 and remain as an adviser through year-end, The Block reported. After that, former Blockchain Association CEO Kristin Smith, who is serving as president of the Solana Policy Institute, will return as interim CEO, according to the report. The outlet said Mersinger helped advance passage of the GENIUS Act and efforts to secure regulatory clarity from agencies including the SEC and CFTC during the tenure.
