Ether.fi effectively exits restaking as returns fade and risks persist

Ether.fi, Ethereum’s largest liquid restaking protocol, is effectively exiting its EigenLayer-based restaking business after removing the feature from weETH in August and planning to remove EigenPod withdrawal credentials by year-end, according to CoinDesk. Restaked assets now account for less than 1% of the total. Ether.fi CEO Mike Silagadze said the company decided to withdraw because meaningful return opportunities in restaking had disappeared while risks for stakers remained.
