Stablecoin issuers’ holdings of short-term U.S. Treasuries could reach around $400 billion by 2030 if current growth trends continue, Cryptopolitan reported, citing the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco. The report said issuers have been increasing their T-bill holdings to manage reserves, and the pace of growth since 2023 has been faster than that of Japan, the largest foreign holder of U.S. Treasuries. Separately, global debt rose by $10 trillion over the past six months to a record $365 trillion, according to the Institute of International Finance.
