Architecture Metaverse Platform STELSI Attracts Strategic Investment from Nexus One

Web3 & Enterprise·October 06, 2023, 9:04 AM

STELSI, a blockchain-based metaverse construction project, has announced that it has secured a strategic investment from global crypto asset venture capital firm Nexus One.

Bridging architecture and the metaverse

STELSI is a Build-to-Earn (B2E) decentralized metaverse island that provides a realistic and intuitive extended reality (XR) experience where users can design, construct, and manage their own buildings. Built with the 3D creation tool Unreal Engine, it aims to support the seamless application of blockchain technology across various fields of the construction industry, including architectural planning and design, construction, and real estate. The platform also has its own token, STELSI, which users can earn by staking building NFTs.

“At STELSI, we are building a metaverse platform that converts the works of architects and artists into digital assets, providing new economic value and creative opportunities that have not been experienced before,” said the platform’s CEO Ryan Shim. “I believe that our efforts to make the traditionally conservative construction industry more flexible appealed to Nexus One as an attractive investment point.”

Nexus One professionally invests in blockchain and crypto projects such as Klaytn, PlayDapp, and ProBit. Through its latest investment in STELSI, Nexus One aims to contribute to the development of more diverse content related to architecture, producing economic benefits and creative value within the realms of Web3, construction, and lifestyle.

On the other hand, STELSI plans to use this opportunity to expand its services to produce various copyrighted content and foster its ecosystem.

Promoting the world of digital art

STELSI had previously hosted the first STELSI Media Art Biennale on its metaverse platform back in June, where the company highlighted the potential of metaverse media art, a budding artistic field. Furthermore, it is consistently striving to promote the value of art through technology, as seen in “One Earth: Art Pia,” a digital art survival show currently streaming on the Korean OTT platform Wavve.

The platform is also preparing for a token airdrop event ahead of the launch of its decentralized application (dApp) on October 16.

Coins.ph partners with Paxos to further PYUSD adoption

Coins.ph partners with Paxos to further PYUSD adoptionCoins.ph, the Philippines’ leading cryptocurrency exchange, has forged a strategic alliance with Paxos Trust Company, a New York-based institution specializing in blockchain, aiming to propel the adoption of PayPal USD (PYUSD) for seamless cross-border remittances.Photo by C Bueza on UnsplashTargeting fourth largest remittance marketThe Southeast Asian firm outlined details of the partnership via a blog post published to its website on Tuesday. The integration of PYUSD into Coins.ph marks a significant milestone, providing Filipinos with a secure and convenient avenue for transferring funds across borders to their loved ones. Wei Zhou, CEO of Coins.ph, emphasized the foresight in prioritizing the growth of USD stablecoins, particularly PYUSD, acknowledging the Philippines as the fourth largest remittance-receiving country globally, with over 40% of these remittances originating from the United States. Zhou stated:“With PayPal behind it and its availability on platforms such as Venmo and Xoom, PYUSD is set to become one of the most widely used stablecoins in the world.”PYUSD is a U.S. dollar stablecoin promoted by American multinational payment system PayPal and issued by Paxos.Nick Robnett, Senior Director of Customer Success at Paxos, echoed Zhou’s sentiment, stating that PYUSD stands as the safest dollar-backed stablecoin accessible to global institutions and consumers. This regulated digital asset enables Coins.ph users to send U.S. dollars swiftly and affordably, challenging conventional remittance networks and providing enhanced access and economic freedom.Asian expansionThis latest collaboration in the Philippines comes hot on the heels of similar in-roads made elsewhere in Southeast Asia. In Singapore, Paxos has partnered with Crypto.com, an entity that is headquartered in the city-state. The local regulator, the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), had outlined a new regulatory framework for stablecoins in August, making conditions right for Paxos to further develop its PYUSD offering from that location. It got a further boost last week when MAS awarded its local subsidiary, Paxos Digital Singapore Pte. Ltd., in-principle approval to trade within Singapore. The relatively new stablecoin has already been listed on international crypto exchanges such as Bitstamp, Coinbase and Kraken.Philippine potentialThe Philippines is shaping up to have a lot of potential for Paxos and its PYUSD stablecoin. The country has been working on the publication of a regulatory framework for crypto. Coins.ph Head of Legal Compliance, Robert De Guzman, stated in April that the Southeast Asian country was shaping a progressive crypto regulatory framework. Earlier this year, Donald Lim, the Founder of the Blockchain Council of the Philippines (BCP), said that the country was poised for crypto adoption. For users keen on employing PYUSD for remittances, the process is streamlined. Senders transmit PYUSD to the designated Coins.ph wallet address of recipients, from where easy conversion to the Philippine peso (PHP) on the app and subsequent cash-out becomes possible. This can be facilitated through InstaPay or PESONet fund transfers to banks and other e-wallets or through various supported over-the-counter remittance centers endorsed by Coins.ph.

Four Pillars for Success in Korean Security Token Market

Four Pillars for Success in Korean Security Token MarketOn Wednesday, blockchain experts in various fields gathered at the 2023 Blockchain Meetup Conference held in Seoul to discuss issues with security tokens and their outlook.©Pexels/Alesia KozikWhat attracted security token businesses’ attention at the meeting was a presentation by Jung Eui-heon from Lambda256, a subsidiary of Korean crypto exchange Upbit’s operator Dunamu. He shared four pillars for success in the Korean security token market.Security tokens gaining traction in KoreaSecurity tokens have been a trending topic in the Korean blockchain industry since the Korean Financial Services Commission (FSC) allowed the issuance and trading of security tokens last February. Furthermore, a 2022 report jointly published by Boston Consulting Group and Singaporean investment platform ADDX predicted that the total size of illiquid tokenized assets worldwide would reach $16 trillion by 2030.Against this backdrop, here are the four keys to successful security token projects that Jung outlined.Technology adaptationFirst, he emphasized the importance of adopting rapidly changing technology. To tackle the issue, he suggested teaming up with advanced tech companies for long-term collaboration. When choosing tech partners, companies should ensure they are sustainable, possess technological prowess, hold credibility on high volume transactions, and maintain the security level of financial institutions, Jung advised.Forging partnershipsThe second point he mentioned was the need to forge partnerships. The FSC’s February guideline requires the issuance and distribution of security tokens to be managed separately. This means that security token projects require collaboration between issuers, distributors, account managers, asset holders, and tech companies.New securities productsJung also noted that discovering new securities products is crucial. Partnering with existing fractional investing companies may help accelerate the security token project initially, but in the long run, enterprises will eventually have to create products in various fields such as gaming, movies, and entertainment.Token liquidityLastly, Jung underlined the token liquidity, which plays a crucial role in determining its prices. Issuers will need to find various distributors and vice versa. Securing liquidity requires the establishment of a technical standard that improves interoperability and compatibility, he highlighted.
