Integration with Klaytn

The beta version of Allbit.com was launched in March, with a trading view chart displaying real-time prices of cryptocurrencies based on trades that are made on KLAYswap, a major decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol launched by Ozys. KLAYswap is built on Korean tech juggernaut Kakao’s open-source public blockchain called Klaytn.

Newest features

“Users of KLAYSwap and KLAYSTATION can now easily check the status of their on-chain activities without having to track them separately,” explained Ozys CEO Roi Choi.

The “My Portfolio” feature on the recently updated platform gives users a convenient way to monitor their asset balances, the liquidity on KLAYswap, and the staking status of KLAYSTATION, a staking tool based on the Klaytn network. For better risk management, the “Net Asset Trend” graphically displays daily changes in the user’s net asset value. Additionally, the “PNL (ROI) Dashboard” provides insights into profit and loss by showing real-time and periodic performance data. Whether tokens are held in a personal wallet or deposited into a particular service, the dashboard tracks token price movements to present users with an up-to-date view of their investment returns.

Allbit.com customers can also keep up with activities on various wallets and market trends through their personalized watchlists and share their portfolios with others.

Choi added that Ozys plans to add more functions to Allbit.com in the future to enhance the user experience and optimize convenience.

Cryptocurrency Losses Surge to $686 Million in Q3

Cryptocurrency Losses Surge to $686 Million in Q3The cryptocurrency industry has witnessed a turbulent third quarter, with losses surging to $686 million. This unsettling development marks the worst quarter of the year, contributing to $1.4 billion in total losses year-to-date.Photo by GuerrillaBuzz on UnsplashImmunefi reportThese alarming statistics have been unveiled in a report by Singapore-headquartered blockchain security firm Immunefi. According to the report, the number of crypto hacking incidents skyrocketed by 153% year-over-year in the third quarter, with 76 separate incidents recorded. This stands in stark contrast to the same period in 2022, which saw a mere 30 hacking incidents. Furthermore, the losses resulting from these incidents witnessed a 60% increase, surging from approximately $429 million in Q3 2022 to the current level of $685 million. This marks the highest loss recorded for the year.Devastating hacksOf these incidents, two major hacks targeting Mixin Network and Multichain were particularly devastating, accounting for nearly half of the total losses in the quarter at $326 million. The Mixin Network hack, attributed to North Korean-sponsored hackers known as the Lazarus Group, underscores the involvement of state-backed actors in crypto-related cybercrimes. The Lazarus Group’s fingerprints were also found in major hacks of cryptocurrency exchanges, including CoinEx, Alphapo, and Stake, as well as digital payments firm CoinsPaid. Web3 projects based in Japan have been particularly hard hit by the hacker group’s activities. The group was responsible for losses exceeding $200 million. An overwhelming majority of the total Q3 losses, approximately 97%, were attributed to hacking incidents, while frauds and scams constituted a mere 3%. Decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols bore the brunt of the damage, with nearly $500 million lost, compared to over $185 million stolen from centralized exchanges and services. This highlights the vulnerability of DeFi platforms and the intricacies of smart contract code that underlie many of these applications.Among the targeted blockchains, Ethereum, BNB Chain, and Coinbase-incubated Base blockchain were the most prominent, with Ethereum being hit by 35 out of 82 chain losses. These platforms were singled out due to the substantial funds they held and the high level of activity on their networks.Greater recovery effortsThough the situation may appear bleak, there is a glimmer of hope in the form of recovery efforts. Immunefi reports an 8.9% recovery rate, with $61.2 million of stolen funds successfully reclaimed in six cases. Notably, Mixin Network recently introduced a $20 million “bug bounty” in a bid to incentivize the return of stolen funds, underscoring the cryptocurrency industry’s unwavering determination to combat these challenges.Immunefi itself has played a pivotal role in mitigating crypto-related risks, disbursing over $80 million in bounties and safeguarding more than $25 billion in user funds across various protocols. The company’s recent launch of on-chain vaults represents a significant step toward decentralizing its bug bounty platform, further fortifying security within the crypto ecosystem.

Former Binance CEO advising Kyrgyzstan on blockchain & crypto

Binance co-founder and former CEO, Changpeng Zhao (CZ), has partnered with the authorities in the Central Asian republic of Kyrgyzstan to provide advice on crypto regulation and the development and adoption of blockchain technology. It’s understood that CZ has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to this effect with the National Investments Authority (NIA), a state authority that falls under the direction of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic. The NIA promotes foreign direct investment, assisting foreign companies in developing business opportunities within Kyrgyzstan. Photo by Abai K on UnsplashCrypto & blockchain ecosystem developmentIn a statement published on X on April 3 by the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Zhaparov, the president outlined that in accordance with the MOU, the parties will cooperate on the development of the crypto and blockchain ecosystem. Breaking that down further, the president said that this cooperation will involve the provision of technical, infrastructural and technological support and expertise. Additionally, it will involve collaboration towards the implementation of related educational initiatives. Zhaparov added: “This cooperation marks an important step towards strengthening technological infrastructure, implementing innovative solutions, and preparing highly qualified specialists in blockchain technologies, virtual asset management, and cybersecurity. In light of the rapid global evolution of digital technologies, such initiatives are crucial for the sustainable growth of the economy and the security of virtual assets, ultimately generating new opportunities for businesses and society as a whole.” ‘Crypto adoption one country at a time’CZ reacted to this X post by the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, stating: “Kyrgyzstan. Crypto adoption, one country at a time.” He also remarked that this event had brought Zhaparov to X, given that this was his first post on the platform, with an account registered last month. Steve Milton, co-founder and CEO of Web3 wallet project Fintopio and a former Binance marketing executive, commented on the development. Milton stated that Kyrgyzstan is a forward-thinking country, while interpreting CZ's involvement as a step that will help move adoption forward. Additional advisory activityIn another X post, CZ provided details on his advisory activity. He stated: “I officially and unofficially advise a few governments on their crypto regulatory frameworks and blockchain solutions for gov efficiency, expanding blockchain to more than trading. I find this work extremely meaningful.” Reports emerged in January that Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim had discussed digital finance policy matters with CZ. The Binance co-founder said that those discussions revolved around digital asset regulation and risks related to such assets. Furthermore, cross-border collaborations and collaborations between industries were discussed. In December CZ met with the King of Bhutan. Prior to that visit, he posted a link to an article on X that outlined that the Kingdom of Bhutan has accumulated in excess of $1 billion in Bitcoin. At that time, the Binance co-founder said that many nation states will use Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies as reserve assets. In the past, commentators have identified Kyrgyzstan as having considerable potential for crypto mining, given ample hydroelectric generation within the mountainous country. However, crypto mining tax receipts as of the end of last year suggest that crypto mining still remains a niche activity in the Kyrgyz Republic.

Indian Crypto Platform Mudrex Expands Operations in ItalyMudrex, the Indian cryptocurrency investment platform, has achieved a new milestone by successfully registering to operate in Italy.News of Mudrex’s move into the Italian market emerged via a press release published on Tuesday, as well as through an interview given recently by CEO and Co-Founder Edul Patel to CoinDesk. The expansion into Italy marks a rare international move for Indian crypto entities, which have faced challenges due to stringent taxation policies and the global crypto market’s fluctuations.Photo by Mathew Schwartz on UnsplashGlobal expansion planPatel unveiled Mudrex’s ambitious plan for global expansion, with half of the team actively working on international initiatives. The firm’s journey into the Italian market involved gaining approval for registration with Italy’s Organismo Agenti e Mediatori (OAM), a crucial step for crypto firms operating in the country. This registration, granted on September 1, was a strategic move that the company had been carefully planning. Patel explained:“We just wanted some time to pass after the approval before we made the news public.”Coin Sets and thematic indexesDespite having only one million registered users, Mudrex stands out as one of India’s largest crypto platforms. It offers a unique investment approach, focusing on index investing through Coin Sets, an innovative alternative to speculative trading. These Coin Sets encompass various categories, including small, mid, and large-cap assets, as well as Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH). Additionally, Mudrex provides thematic indexes that cover layer one and layer two solutions, NFTs, metaverse projects, and Dow trackers.“While India is our home and where we initially grew, our international customers have told us that investment products in their regions lack diversity,” Patel noted. “We believe that our product is unique and offers distinct advantages.”Mudrex was established in 2018 in Bengaluru while also establishing an office in San Francisco. Alongside Patel, its other Founders included Alankar Saxena as CTO, Rohit Goyal in the role of VP of DeFi, and Prince Arora as VP of Engineering. In 2021 it raised $2.5 million in funding with a view towards launching crypto mutual funds and ETFs. It followed that up in 2022 when it raised $6.5 million in a pre-series A funding round, supported by Y-Combinator, Arkham Ventures, and Tribe Capital. The firm participated in what has become a crypto platform trend over recent months by incorporating an AI chatbot into its platform in June to assist platform users when it comes to learning about crypto.Lithuanian trading licenseMudrex’s expansion into Italy was facilitated by the company’s prior fulfillment of EU operating requirements. The company had obtained a license in Lithuania less than a year ago, enabling it to navigate the EU regulatory landscape efficiently. During the six months of pursuing registration in Italy, Mudrex’s presence in the EU grew substantially, with user numbers increasing from approximately 5,000 to 17,000.With its foothold established in Italy, Mudrex now seeks to make its investment products accessible through various registered entities, including banking partner apps. Patel confirmed ongoing discussions with potential partners, further signaling the company’s commitment to expanding its global footprint.
