NEOPIN Strengthens Japanese Market Strategy for Its Global Expansion

NEOPIN Strengthens Japanese Market Strategy for Its Global ExpansionNEOPIN, the global CeDeFi platform of South Korean investment holding company Neowiz Holdings, announced the strengthening of its strategy to enter the Japanese market as part of its global expansion plan.Photo by Aditya Anjagi on UnsplashThree key initiativesTo achieve this goal, NEOPIN has devised three key initiatives. Firstly, it will make investments in Japanese partners and provide support for their entry into other markets such as Korea, the Middle East, and Africa. Secondly, NEOPIN aims to facilitate the entry of its existing partners into Japan. Lastly, the Korean platform plans to collaborate closely with the Finschia Foundation and its members to effectively drive its expansion efforts in Japan.Web3 landscape in JapanSince the Mt. Gox incident in 2014, wherein the major Tokyo-based cryptocurrency exchange went bankrupt due to hacking attacks, Japan has responded by implementing stricter regulations. However, in recent times, the Japanese government has displayed a more positive stance towards Web3 technology, aiming to attain dominance in this sector. Illustrating this commitment, the Web3 project team, operating under the ruling Liberal Democratic Party’s (LDP) Working Group for Digital Society Promotion, released the Web3 White Paper in April. The document underscores Japan’s determination to lead the global market by fostering a business-friendly environment for Web3 innovation. Moreover, Prime Minister Fumio Kishida recently delivered a keynote speech at Japan’s annual Web3 conference, WebX, reaffirming the government’s dedication to establishing a Web3-friendly ecosystem. These initiatives signal Japan’s potential to contribute to the growth of the cryptocurrency and decentralized finance (DeFi) industry.Adaptation to regulationsNEOPIN’s operator Neowiz Partners, formerly known as NEOPLY, became part of the Innovation Programme of the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), with an aim to become the world’s first regulated DeFi platform. It is also working with the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) to develop a DeFi regulatory framework for the Gulf nation. In a similar vein, NEOPIN strives to respond quickly to the changing regulatory landscape in Japan to ensure the Korean CeDeFi protocol firmly establishes its presence in the Japanese market. In addition to providing direct and indirect service offerings in Japan, NEOPIN will also invest in and partner with local Web3 projects. One significant step taken by NEOPIN was its participation in IVS Crypto 2023, a high-profile Web3 startup event held in Kyoto in June. At this event, NEOPIN engaged with various Japanese businesses, initiating important connections. Since then, the Korean platform has been making progress in advancing communication and collaborations with Japanese enterprises.NEOPIN as blockchain validatorCollaboration with the Finschia Foundation will also be strengthened to achieve success in the Japanese market. In July, the blockchain mainnet Finschia launched its governance consortium and revealed its members. Within just four hours of the consortium’s launch, NEOPIN, as a governance member, received more than 1 million delegated votes, maintaining its position at the top spot in terms of voting power ever since. The Finschia mainnet was established by Line Tech Plus, a blockchain subsidiary of Tokyo-based messaging app giant Line Corporation.Serving as validators on various blockchains, including Ethereum, Tron, Cardano, and Cosmos, since 2017, NEOPIN has acquired blockchain and technical expertise. Last month, NEOPIN launched liquid staking products for ETH and KLAY, making it Korea’s first blockchain project to introduce an ETH liquid staking product. Liquid staking is a mechanism that allows users to deposit their cryptocurrencies into a staking pool, where they receive liquidity provider tokens in exchange. By holding these tokens, users can further redeposit them to earn additional yield. In light of this development, NEOPIN CEO Kim Yong-ki emphasized the CeDeFi protocol’s global expansion strategy, establishing its bases in the UAE, Japan, and Indonesia. These locations will serve as hubs for NEOPIN’s expansion efforts in the Middle East and Africa, Northeast Asia, and Southeast Asia. Kim added that NEOPIN will leverage its physical and human resources to achieve notable outcomes in the Japanese market.

Korbit Joins Hands with Shinhan Card and Good Neighbors for NFT CampaignKorean crypto exchange Korbit said Thursday that it is participating in the Cambodia Youth Independent Tuk-tuk Transportation IG Group organized by the Good Neighbors Global Impact Foundation to help create jobs and support economic stability for youths in Kampot, southern Cambodia. To do so, the exchange has launched a campaign with Korean credit card company Shinhan Card and the Good Neighbors Global Impact Foundation to issue environmental, social, and governance (ESG) donation certificates minted as non-fungible tokens (NFTs).Photo by Markus Winkler on UnsplashTuk-tuks, or auto rickshaws, are the main mode of transportation in Cambodia, offering a larger job market for youths who are looking to become financially independent. Yoo Tae-hyun, Head of the Platform Business Group at Shinhan Card, expressed his hopes that the campaign will empower the youths and help them become more independent.Campaign participationShinhan cardholders who wish to participate in the campaign can select “Tuk Tuk Donation Certificate NFT Campaign” found under the Areumin section in Shinhan’s app service Shinhan pLay. They can then make a donation with their card or card points and apply for an NFT. Korbit said that it would airdrop all NFTs to donors at the end of the campaign in December, which can be verified on Korbit’s NFT marketplace and Shinhan pLay app’s MyNFT service. The images minted on the donation NFTs, which depict Cambodian youths on tuk tuks, are a contribution from Park Hye-geun, an artist who has worked on children’s books, educational materials, and more.Notably, during a memorandum of understanding (MOU) signing ceremony last Monday, the three entities opted for an NFT certificate confirming their partnership instead of directly signing a document as a means to further implement NFTs into their collaboration.Boosting ESG efforts“We are pleased to contribute to creating a trend of making donations through NFTs and will continue to uphold our ESG management to have a positive impact on society,” said Oh Se-jin, CEO of Korbit. Meanwhile, Hyun Jin-young, CEO of the Good Neighbors Global Impact Foundation, applauded Korbit’s efforts to promote a culture of donation and address global social issues through the use of NFTs. He also stated that he looks forward to various technological collaborations with Korbit in the future.Korbit has previously worked with Shinhan Card on various cultural and artistic ESG activities, such as hosting an art fair in April in Seoul, where some 200 artists showcased their artworks.

NEOPIN and Finschia Foundation to jointly launch Finschia’s first decentralized exchange

NEOPIN and Finschia Foundation to jointly launch Finschia’s first decentralized exchangeCentralized decentralized finance (CeDeFi) protocol NEOPIN and blockchain developer Finschia Foundation have teamed up to launch Finschia Network Swap (FNSwap) — the first automated market maker (AMM) decentralized exchange on Finschia’s public blockchain — in the first quarter of next year, according to an announcement on Finschia’s official website last Friday (KST).Photo by Chris Liverani on UnsplashRevolutionizing DeFiNEOPIN has taken over the development of FNSwap, which will employ a pricing algorithm as an AMM decentralized exchange to set the prices of assets, thus increasing liquidity in liquidity pools. The platform will support crypto deposits, including those made in FNSA and NPT — Finschia and NEOPIN’s respective governance tokens — along with other stablecoins. The list of supported cryptocurrencies will be expanded later on as the mainnet grows, Finschia said.“As Finschia’s first decentralized exchange, Finschia Network Swap is expected to make it more convenient for many users to use crypto services,” said Kim Yong-gi, CEO of NEOPIN. “We plan to actively expand the number of cryptocurrencies supported on the platform in line with the expansion of the Finschia ecosystem.”Ecosystem expansionFNSwap will also be centered around its community of users, providing lucrative DeFi products and incentives like token swapping, staking and rewards, thus establishing a secure and convenient blockchain ecosystem. The two firms committed to exploring other endeavors as well, such as discovering promising Web3 projects through events like hackathons; facilitating interaction between their respective partner firms; and conducting joint promotional campaigns to expand the Finschia ecosystem.“We are pleased to work with NEOPIN to launch the first decentralized exchange of the Finschia ecosystem,” said Ko Young-soo, Chairman of the Finschia Foundation. “We will consistently provide the technical support that NEOPIN needs to successfully launch the Finschia Network Swap.”
