Global Web3 security firm CertiK has reported a suspected hack of Wasabi, a memecoin leverage trading protocol, with estimated losses currently at $2.9 million. Separately, Cyvers Alerts stated it detected suspicious transactions related to the Wasabi Protocol. According to the firm, approximately $4.5 million in various cryptocurrencies, including PEPE, MOG, USDC, and BTC, appear to have been stolen. The stolen funds were all swapped for ETH and then distributed to multiple addresses, Cyvers Alerts explained.

Aergo (AERGO) announced via its official Medium that House Party Protocol (HPP), a project born from the merger of Alpha Quark, W3DB, and Boost, is planning to list on multiple additional global exchanges. The specific names of the exchanges have not yet been disclosed.
Currently, HPP is listed on Coinone, Gopax, Korbit, and HTX, which directly support its Layer 2 mainnet. Gate.io and Bitget support trading through the Layer 1 Ethereum chain.

AI infrastructure company Gensyn announced on April 29 that it has listed its native token, Gensyn (AI), on exchanges including OKX, Binance Alpha, and Kraken. The token generation event follows the launch of the company's mainnet and its first application, Delphi, on April 22.
The AI token is designed to be the core economic infrastructure of the Gensyn network. A protocol fee of 0.5% on all transaction volume, including from the Delphi market, will be used to automatically buy back AI tokens. Of the repurchased supply, 70% will be permanently burned, and 29% will be allocated to the community treasury. Gensyn has previously raised $43 million from investors such as a16z Crypto, Galaxy Digital, and Eden Block.

The South Korean government's reaffirmation of its plan to tax virtual assets next year has reignited a debate over fairness, particularly following the abolition of the financial investment income tax, News1 reported. The opposition People Power Party has decided to review the tax system itself. Lawmaker Song Eon-seok of the party argued that taxing virtual assets is inconsistent with fairness now that the financial investment income tax has been repealed. Lawmaker Kim Eun-hye pointed out that it is difficult to accept the government's plan to collect taxes when the criteria for taxation remain unclear. Similarly, lawmaker Park Soo-young stated that the National Tax Service is not sufficiently prepared to impose a virtual asset income tax. In contrast, the ruling Democratic Party has not yet announced an official position on the matter. Previously, the National Tax Service stated that under current law, it is preparing to tax income generated from 2027, with the first tax filings scheduled for 2028.

South Korea's Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) has appealed a lower court's decision to overturn a partial business suspension it had imposed on Dunamu, Yonhap News reported. The FIU, which operates under the Financial Services Commission, filed the appeal with the Seoul Administrative Court this morning. The legal dispute began in February 2025, when the FIU ordered a three-month partial suspension of Dunamu's operations, citing violations of the Act on Reporting and Using Specified Financial Transaction Information by the company and its employees. The case will now proceed to an appellate court.
