Circuit breaker triggered on Kosdaq after KOSPI slide
July 28, 2026, 3:07 AM
South Korea’s exchange operator triggered a circuit breaker after the Kosdaq fell more than 8%, following a similar move in the KOSPI.
A circuit breaker temporarily halts trading during sharp declines in the KOSPI and Kosdaq markets and operates in three stages. A first-stage circuit breaker is triggered when a drop of more than 8% is sustained for one minute, suspending trading for about 20 minutes.
