A potential data breach at Israeli crypto exchange Bits of Gold may have exposed the personal information of as many as 250,000 customers, CryptoSlate reported. The data that may have been exposed includes names, national ID numbers, phone numbers, email and IP addresses, bank account information, and public cryptocurrency wallet addresses. Account passwords and ID document images were not exposed, according to the report. The exchange said customer funds and crypto assets remain safe.
Following the incident, Paz, a major Israeli energy distributor, temporarily suspended the Bitcoin purchase service offered through its Yellow convenience store app. Bits of Gold and Paz had previously entered into a partnership for Bitcoin purchases and custody.
