Empowering financial clarity

Cryptotax is a platform that offers comprehensive virtual asset tax accounting services that allow both individual and corporate clients to monitor their virtual assets, view receipts of their transactions and calculate and report their virtual asset tax records. To do so, it collects and analyzes transaction history and asset details from crypto exchange accounts and digital wallets that users can register on their Cryptotax accounts.

Individual investors can also monitor their assets and view their net profits, as well as receive a preview of the amount of tax they would actually have to pay later on based on those profits.

On the other hand, corporate clients that issue or own virtual assets can get access to special services through Cryptotax’s solution as a service (Saas) dubbed Cryptotax Enterprise. By using this service, businesses, investment management firms and virtual asset issuers can benefit from automated tax processing and directly receive accounting documents.

Harnessing technological prowess

“We have been working hard to prove our technological and competitive capabilities through the establishment of the Cryptotax platform,” said Yoon Dong-hwan, CEO of Xxsoft, reaffirming the company’s efforts to rapidly expand the comprehensive platform and establish collaborative relationships.

NPIXEL Wraps Up 2nd Community Test for Web3 Game “Gran Saga: Unlimited”

NPIXEL Wraps Up 2nd Community Test for Web3 Game “Gran Saga: Unlimited”Korean game developer NPIXEL announced on Tuesday the successful completion of the second community test for its Web3-based PC massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) called “Gran Saga: Unlimited.”The test — conducted over the course of two weeks with some 8,000 global participants — was aimed at enhancing the gameplay environment and strengthening community-based content ahead of the official release of the game.Photo by Andrey Metelev on UnsplashExploring game features and player-based developmentAccording to local news outlet ETnews, participants had the opportunity to try out various features within the game, including new dungeons, a 16-player raid, and a player-versus-player (PvP) battleground called “Chaos Field.” In particular, the “Idol & Fan” system garnered significant attention, where 100 global influencers who received soulbound tokens participated as “idols” to create diverse content with their “fandoms.”NPIXEL’s development team was actively engaged in the testing process, collaborating with users to strategize dungeon conquests and partake in community activities. They implemented real-time communication with users, gathering feedback and opinions to build a game that players directly contributed to.“Proof-of-Play”: The expansion of blockchain in gamingOne of the key features of Gran Saga: Unlimited is its Proof-of-Play technology, NPIXEL explained, much like the Proof-of-Work process used in cryptocurrency. Proof-of-Play involves recording all the in-game items and commodities that a player receives on a blockchain, thus proving and disclosing the items’ randomness of acquisition. The difficulty of obtaining certain items is determined based on in-game demand, and users can search and verify real-time information such as time of acquisition, ownership identification, and random probability.Upcoming launch and exclusive rewardsThe developer is also offering rewards to all 8,000 testers, including a Mount NFT when the game is launched and a chance to win a whitelist spot raffle of Catcha NFT with 1,000 open spots to all testers.NPIXEL will thoroughly review user feedback and opinions collected during the test to further improve the game, after which they plan to officially launch the game through the web-based premier gaming ecosystem, METAPIXEL.METAPIXEL will be developed on the Layer 1 blockchain network Aptos, which is based on NPIXEL’s partnership with Aptos established back in November of last year.

NBC and AliPay collaborate to enable enhanced cross-border payments

NBC and AliPay collaborate to enable enhanced cross-border paymentsThe National Bank of Cambodia (NBC) and Ant Group, the parent company of AliPay+, the borderless payment and marketing solutions provider for merchants, have inked a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on “Cross-Border QR Code Payment Cooperation.”The deal was announced at last week’s Singapore FinTech Festival. The collaboration aims to boost the use of KHQR codes through Alipay+. KHQR codes provide for a standardization of QR codes which have been created for retail transfers and payments within Cambodia.Chea Serey, the Governor of NBC, and Douglas Feagin, Senior Vice President of Ant Group, formally signed the MOU to facilitate efficient and secure cross-border QR code payment transactions. The agreement focuses on bridging Bakong’s network through KHQR codes and Alipay+’s extensive global QR code acceptance network, as outlined in an NBC press release.Photo by Paul Szewczyk on UnsplashBakong CBDCBakong is Cambodia’s central bank digital currency (CBDC) based upon the Cambodian riel. Japanese fintech developer Soramitsu has collaborated with the Cambodian authorities in developing it.This latest development unfolded as Chea Serey took the stage as a keynote speaker at the Singapore Fintech Festival, addressing the theme, “The Intersection of Policy, Finance, and Technology.”According to a statement from Chea Serey’s official Facebook account, this collaboration opens doors for Cambodia Bakong users to access Alipay+ and engage with over 83 million merchants worldwide. Additionally, it allows international tourists to seamlessly make payments to KHQR merchants in Cambodia. Serey stated:“Today I am glad to announce the MoU signing between Alipay Plus and NBC, hence I encourage local banks to inform their merchants to open KHR accounts and start accepting KHR payments otherwise they won’t be able to benefit from this arrangement.”Greater interoperabilitySerey highlighted that this collaboration marks a significant step in enhancing Cambodia’s payment connectivity on a global scale, creating a more convenient and inclusive experience for tourists and contributing to the growth of the national economy. In an interview with CNBC at last week’s event, Serey said that the initiative will enable greater interoperability. In China, Cambodian merchants and visitors can use the Cambodian payment system to make payments to Chinese vendors. Likewise, Chinese visitors can use Alipay+, a platform they are familiar with, to make payments for goods and services in Cambodia. Serey believes this to be important, given that Cambodia depends heavily on tourism. The Alipay+ platform facilitates payments through various digital wallets, including Korea’s KakaoPay, Malaysia’s TouchnGo, Thailand’s TrueMoney and the Philippines’ GCash. Ant Group has been attempting to extend the regional utility of its payment system for some time.As far back as 2017, Ant Group signed an MOU with British bank Standard Chartered with a view towards increasing financial services access to clients located along China’s “Belt and Road” initiative route. In 2019, Alipay inked a deal with Cambodia’s DaraPay to allow Alipay wallet holders to pay for goods and services at DaraPay POS terminal points.Alipay and WeChat Pay are recognized as two of the most preferred payment methods among Chinese consumers. Together, they dominate the Chinese mobile payments landscape, boasting a market share of over 92 percent and a user base exceeding 2 billion.

Turkish lira becomes third largest fiat currency in crypto trading

The Turkish Lira (TRY) has become the third largest fiat currency by volume in the cryptocurrency market, according to a report by Kaiko. This milestone was reached as TRY's share of the crypto market hit an all-time high of 19% in early June. The increase in volume is attributed to the country's economic challenges, notably its high inflation rate, which has surpassed 70%, making the lira one of the most volatile fiat currencies globally.Photo by Afdhallul Ziqri on UnsplashFactors influencing the increaseThe shift in the Turkish lira's position in the crypto market is partly due to increased foreign exchange volatility and currency devaluation, common catalysts for cryptocurrency adoption in developing economies. Additionally, geopolitical factors such as a record number of elections and diverging monetary policies have intensified market fluctuations. This environment has favored cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, which reached new highs against the lira in recent months. For instance, Bitcoin escalated to 2.3 million TRY in March from 979,000 TRY in October 2023. The recent adjustments in cryptocurrency trading platforms, particularly Binance's delisting of certain fiat trading pairs due to banking issues, have also increased the dominance of TRY in crypto transactions. This series of events underscores the growing interconnection between traditional and digital finance markets, highlighting the increasing role of cryptocurrencies in regions facing economic instability.
