Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM), the country's central bank, has established a three-year roadmap for asset tokenization, Cointelegraph reported. The bank plans to conduct proof-of-concept (PoC) projects and live pilot tests through its Digital Asset Innovation Hub, which launched earlier this year. BNM clarified that the roadmap will focus on real-world assets (RWA) rather than cryptocurrencies. Key applications include supply chain finance for small and medium-sized enterprises, liquidity management, and Sharia-compliant financial solutions.
