Eighteen analysts from the research team of cryptocurrency media The Block have released their industry and market forecasts for 2025. CoinNess has summarized as follows:
1. Aleksandar Bukovski: Bitcoin (BTC) is expected to surpass Amazon's market cap by mid-2025 and Apple’s by year-end, as institutional adoption grows. Solana (SOL) may exceed 50% of Ethereum’s market cap by July, with a SOL ETF launch anticipated in October. Real-world assets (RWAs) trading volume could exceed $20 trillion, with tokenized bonds dominating the space.
2. Ivan Wu: Traditional financial institutions are ramping up crypto integration, focusing on DeFi and RWAs. Memecoins will consolidate, with community-driven narratives gaining prominence. Crypto gaming will struggle, with few long-term successes. ETH and BTC are expected to make new all-time highs, driven by ETF adoption and broader education in the crypto space.
3. Mohamed Ayadi: 2025’s market cycle will likely peak mid-year, coinciding with significant macroeconomic events like U.S. Federal Reserve policy changes. Solana could approach $1,000 per token, while Bitcoin will hold better post-peak than previous cycles due to institutional adoption. Ethereum’s usability challenges may hinder its growth relative to competing layer-1s like Solana.
4. Ankush Jha: On-chain volumes will grow, with decentralized exchanges (DEXs) capturing 15-20% of centralized exchange volumes. AI agents will drive innovation, with cross-agent communication emerging as a major trend. Memecoins will continue to gain traction, with Solana and Base dominating this niche. On-chain derivatives markets are expected to flourish.
5. Alex Lewtschuk: The AI x Crypto narrative will dominate, focusing on infrastructure for AI agent transactions and verification. Solana is poised for further growth, potentially flipping Ethereum. BTC may be added to state reserves, further solidifying its adoption. NFTs could see a resurgence, tied to real-world assets and gaming applications.
6. Alicia Li: A wave of altcoin ETFs, including Solana and XRP, could enter the market. Tokenized RWAs could grow into a trillion-dollar industry, with stablecoins leading adoption due to regulatory clarity. Memecoins will maintain popularity, and stable use cases for NFTs may emerge. The U.S. government’s potential BTC reserve could drive global competition.
