Funds expected to exit crypto market during Christmas week, researcher says

December 23, 2024, 12:32 AM
Adam, a macro researcher at crypto options trading toolkit Greeks.live, forecasts a withdrawal of funds from the cryptocurrency market as U.S. and European stock markets close for Christmas, continuing past trends. According to Adam’s X post, ETFs remain the primary external funding source for the crypto market, which is facing greater pressure from capital outflows than in previous years. Nearly $12 billion in crypto options are set to expire this week, over 40% of total open interest, prompting major investors to adjust their positions. Market volatility is expected to remain low for this Christmas week, with focus shifting to the upcoming inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump on Jan. 20.
