U.S. Trade Representative says scope of Section 301 tariffs could expand if needed

Jamison Greer, U.S. Trade Representative, said the scope of Section 301 of the Trade Act could be expanded if necessary, according to posts by @DeItaone on X. Section 301 authorizes the U.S. to impose broad retaliatory measures, including tariffs, on countries engaging in unfair or discriminatory trade practices. The provision was previously used during the first Trump administration to justify tariffs on China. Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump said China had completely violated its tariff agreement with the U.S.
