U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick said on X that the U.S. is the greatest country in the world, yet it suffers from the highest interest rates among developed nations. He criticized Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell, saying he appears to be afraid of his own shadow.
Lutnick also disputed Powell’s claim that tariffs have driven up prices in categories such as personal computers, pointing out that there are currently no tariffs on personal computers. He added that any tariffs on semiconductors and computers will be determined after the Commerce Department completes its analysis.
