U.S. Congress resets timeline on crypto legislation

June 27, 2025, 1:39 PM
The U.S. Senate and White House are aligning on separate paths for market structure and stablecoin legislation, with the Senate GOP committing to a new timeline, according to Crypto in America host Eleanor Terrett. Senate Banking Chairman Tim Scott (R-SC) announced that market structure legislation should be completed by the end of September. This adjustment follows a delay from President Trump’s initial August deadline. The House remains silent on when it will vote on the GENIUS Act, with President Trump expected to sign it next month.
