Mitsubishi UFJ enters security token business

Mitsubishi UFJ Morgan Stanley Securities has entered the security token business, CoinDesk Japan reported. In partnership with local fintech firm Smartplus, the company has launched ASTOMO, a trading platform for retail investors that allows investments starting from a minimum of 100,000 yen (around $670).
Separately, Mitsubishi UFJ plans to become the first Japanese bank to issue publicly offered subordinated bonds in the form of security tokens.
