South Korean woman sentenced for laundering over $180M in crypto

A South Korean woman in her 30s has received a prison sentence in an appeals court for selling more than 260 billion won ($180.6 million) in cryptocurrency suspected to be criminal proceeds, News1 reported. The woman was indicted on charges of selling the assets on behalf of an individual she met in a group chat in exchange for a promised large commission. After selling the crypto, she reportedly transferred the funds to hundreds of different accounts.
