Cross-chain accessibility

Warp is a bridge service that enables the exchange between its native token, MARBLEX (MBX), and bridge token, MBXL, while allowing MBX tokens to move across blockchain networks. With this update, BNB Chain users can now access services within the MBX ecosystem, including games and NFTs. The recent update is expected to attract an influx of BNB Chain users after MARBLEX previously entered into a strategic partnership with the network in February to expand its multichain ecosystem.

Furthermore, MARBLEX intends to continue applying its convenient user-friendly service approach by maintaining its existing system for gas fee payments.

Celebratory events

MARBLEX is hosting special events worth a total of $240,000 to mark the new update, including an offering of liquidity pools in two forms — BNB-MBX pairs and USDT-MBX pairs — on the decentralized exchange PancakeSwap. The company also plans to reward MBX for staking in Syrup Pools within PancakeSwap, which are special staking processes where users can earn free tokens.

The developer also plans to hold an online community event for service users.

Animoca founder: $200T crypto market within 10 years

The global cryptocurrency market is poised for unprecedented growth, potentially reaching $200 trillion within a decade, according to Yat Siu, co-founder of Animoca Brands, a prominent Hong Kong-based Web3 game software company and venture capital firm. 2-3x within 18 monthsCurrently valued at approximately $2.7 trillion according to data from crypto aggregator CoinGecko, the cryptocurrency market is set to double or triple in the near term, Siu predicted on The Valr Podcast on May 28. “In the near term — within 12 to 18 months — we can conceive of a doubling or tripling of the space,” he stated, expressing strong confidence in the industry's future milestones. Siu elaborated on his bold forecast, suggesting that over a five to ten-year period, the market could accelerate by 100 to 200 times, potentially reaching a valuation of $200 trillion or even higher. In conversation with Farzam Ehsani, the co-founder of Valr, a platform that allows users to buy, sell, store and transfer crypto assets, Siu said:“I think we could reach that kind of number within a decade.” This explosive growth, according to Siu, will be driven by billions of people becoming digital property owners within the Web3 ecosystem. Siu stated: “It is entirely conceivable that we’re going to have a billion property owners because we’re going to have a billion token holders. This is not possible in the physical world.”Photo by Pierre Borthiry - Peiobty on UnsplashAsia fastest growing marketSiu also pointed out the regional dynamics within the Web3 space, noting that Asia has emerged as the fastest-growing market. “Right now, the leading force in Web3 is clearly Asia,” he argued, citing robust adoption rates in regions such as Southeast Asia, Hong Kong and Japan. In contrast, jurisdictions like the United States are lagging behind, primarily due to regulatory uncertainties. Siu pointed out that historically, the United States has tended to take a leadership role where new technology is concerned. Web3 is turning out to be the exception to that rule. With that, he thinks that it is Asia that will lead the way and that it will continue to lead for the foreseeable future where Web3 is concerned. Bullish on BitcoinHis optimism about the Web3 market's potential aligns with his bullish stance on Bitcoin, currently standing at a market capitalization of $1.3 trillion. Siu made another bold prediction recently, expressing confidence that Bitcoin would eventually reach $1 million. At the time of writing, Bitcoin is trading at $68,346. While that’s far from his $1 million unit price prediction, he did state at Web Summit Rio in April that it would do so “over time.”  That bullishness from the Animoca founder has also manifested itself within the company itself. In early May, the company announced its entry into the Bitcoin ecosystem by endorsing the Opal Foundation, a Bitcoin-centric protocol. At the time, Siu suggested that Bitcoin is now primed for Web3. Siu's projections reflect a broader optimism in the cryptocurrency industry, where rapid technological advancements and increasing adoption rates are expected to drive significant growth. As more individuals and institutions embrace digital assets, the potential for exponential market expansion becomes increasingly plausible.

AliExpress Partners With ‘The Moment3!’ NFT ProjectAliExpress, the renowned global e-commerce platform and subsidiary of China’s Alibaba Group, is making its entry into the world of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) through a newly announced partnership with The Moment3!, a Web3 project. The collaboration aims to release a collection of 5,555 NFTs later this month.Photo by Andrey Metelev on UnsplashWhat is ‘The Moment3!’?Oddly, we know very little about the project. Its Telegram channel has just been established, it doesn’t have a website, while its Discord and Twitter channels are also recently established with modest followings. Anonymity is a feature in Web3 and perhaps that’s the approach this project is taking. Whatever the background, it has to be said that there must be some talent behind the project for it to secure the backing of an entity like AliExpress by way of this partnership. This recent announcement was initially made on AliExpress’ official Twitter account but that tweet has since been removed. The project itself tweeted out news of the partnership on Thursday. The Moment3!’s mission, as stated in its Twitter bio, revolves around utilizing NFTs to immortalize special moments on the blockchain.According to the project’s Discord channel, The Moment3! aims to connect with real-world businesses and provide NFT owners with benefits and exclusive rights beyond the collectible value.NFT debutThis marks AliExpress’ initial venture into the NFT market, although its parent company, Alibaba, has previously explored the Web3 space. In September 2022, Alibaba’s luxury shopping platform, Tmall Luxury Pavilion, introduced an immersive shopping metaverse experience and introduced the Meta Pass, granting users free access to virtual experiences.Alibaba-Centric Web3 projectsThere have been several other Web3-related investments and developments related to Alibaba Group companies in recent months.Last month, Alibaba Cloud, one of the world’s largest cloud computing companies, joined forces with the Avalanche layer one blockchain project to introduce “Cloudverse,” a launchpad facilitating the creation of personalized spaces within the metaverse for businesses. In April Alibaba Cloud was the co-organizer of the Web3 Festival, an event held in Hong Kong to showcase the autonomous Chinese territory for the development of the Web3 sector. The four-day event attracted 10,000 attendees. In early May, Artifact Labs, a Hong Kong-based start-up company that specializes in metaverse and Web3 product offerings, raised $3.25 million in a funding round led by Blue Pool Capital. The investment firm is the personal investment vehicle of Alibaba founders Jack Ma and Joe Tsai.NFT warningAliExpress, owned by Alibaba Group, is a global e-commerce platform that does not cater to customers in mainland China, despite being headquartered in China. The Chinese government prohibited all cryptocurrency transactions in September 2021. NFTs remained legal although authorities recently issued a warning on their use, together with some guidelines. With its new collaboration, AliExpress is expanding its reach into the Web3 space and exploring the potential of NFTs. As the release date approaches, anticipation grows to witness the specific features and benefits offered by the 5,555 NFTs that will soon be available to the public.

Busan signs MOU with BDX Consortium to launch Busan Digital Asset Exchange

South Korea’s southeastern port city of Busan signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on Wednesday with the BDX Consortium led by ITCEN GROUP, a Seoul-based tech company specializing in system integrations. This marks the beginning of the establishment of the Busan Digital Asset Exchange (BDX). Photo by Minku Kang on UnsplashPlans to establish BDX CorporationFollowing the MOU signing, Busan and the BDX Consortium plan to join forces to set up and operate BDX successfully. The two entities are also dedicated to swiftly establishing a private entity, “BDX Corporation,” within the blockchain regulation-free zone in Busan, as part of their ambitious plan to make Busan into a global blockchain hub.  ITCEN GROUP is known to have extensive experience in trading real-world assets (RWAs) such as gold, silver and copper. Other participants of the BDX Consortium include Hana Securities, Hana Bank, OCON and Barunson, who are set to provide RWAs and intellectual properties (IP) to BDX in cooperation with ITCEN GROUP. Following the founding of BDX Corporation, the BDX Consortium is required to provide investment capital to the city of Busan until April, in accordance with its business plan.  A blockchain exchange with its own mainnet based on decentralized governanceThe decentralized governance upon which BDX will operate is an independent framework capable of handling securities settlements, listing assessments and market monitoring. It also serves as an investor protection measure through its mutual check and balance system.  BDX plans to support 24/7 transactions of various assets including commodities, jewelry, IP and carbon credit, all of which will be tokenized into small units for convenient trade.  “This partnership lays the foundation for the BDX launch, which will serve as a cornerstone of the city’s plan to foster the blockchain industry. In close cooperation with local enterprises, Busan will do its best to build and operate the exchange and contribute to the city’s economic growth,” stated Park Hyeong-joon, the mayor of Busan.
