NEAR Protocol inflation cut to 2.5% up for voting

Layer-1 blockchain NEAR Protocol (NEAR) announced on X that it has proposed cutting NEAR’s inflation rate from 5% to 2.5% to improve long-term sustainability, support token value and align ecosystem incentives. Validator voting on the proposal runs through the end of July 2025. If it secures the required majority, the new inflation model will be implemented in the next protocol upgrade.
