Status debuts gasless layer-2 testnet with yield-based model

Ethereum-based messaging platform Status (SNT) launched a gasless layer-2 testnet on Consensys’ Linea stack, replacing transaction fees with yield from bridged assets and app activity, according to The Daily Hodl. The network aims to support games, social apps and DeFi while enhancing privacy. Mainnet is planned for Q1 2026.
