Tether CEO suggests time to ditch cloud as 16B passwords breached

Amidst the largest data breach in history in which 16 billion passwords were leaked, including those from Apple, Facebook and Google, Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino outlined via X that the cloud has failed again. “It’s time to ditch the cloud,” he wrote, adding that the company has been developing and will soon be releasing an open-source password manager called PearPass. Ardoino claims that this service doesn’t involve the cloud or centralized servers, meaning zero data breaches.
