November 20, 2025, 1:30 PM
The U.S. Department of Labor announced that nonfarm payrolls increased by 119,000 in September, significantly exceeding market expectations of 53,000. The unemployment rate came in at 4.4%, slightly above the forecast of 4.3%. Meanwhile, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics has opted not to publish its October report, and the release of the November report has been delayed until Dec. 16. As a result, the September jobs data is the final nonfarm payroll report that will be available before the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting on Dec. 11.
