Revolutionizing user experience

The collaboration, announced via a blog post published by BingX on Monday, aims to revolutionize the crypto trading experience by combining BingX’s robust platform with AstraBit’s cutting-edge technology.

AstraBit empowers BingX users with total control over risk and exposure in their trades through automated trading strategies powered by artificial intelligence and machine learning. Users can leverage AstraBit’s technology to customize and hyper-personalize their trading strategies, maximizing their trading potential in the dynamic crypto market. AstraBit-powered bots follow preset instructions, but users have the flexibility to adjust parameters such as stop loss and take profit at any time, even in the middle of a trade.

Security measures

To ensure the highest level of security, AstraBit operates 24/7, utilizing two-factor authentication (2FA) and implementing advanced security measures such as machine learning intrusion detection systems and anti-ransomware software. Importantly, AstraBit cannot withdraw funds from users’ wallets, providing an additional layer of protection.

Elvisco Carrington, PR and Communications Director at BingX, expressed excitement about the partnership, stating: “The integration with AstraBit helps revolutionize the crypto trading experience. By combining BingX’s robust platform with AstraBit’s cutting-edge technology, we are empowering our users to maximize their trading potential and achieve greater success in the dynamic crypto market. This partnership aligns perfectly with our commitment to delivering excellence and driving the industry forward.”

MT5 integration

In addition to the collaboration with AstraBit, BingX made headlines earlier this year by announcing its direct integration with MetaTrader 5 (MT5), making it one of the first crypto platforms to connect with the world’s most popular trading platform. MT5 offers advanced features, including a wide range of technical indicators, depth of market (DOM) functionality, and support for trading on multiple exchanges. It is known for its versatility, supporting various asset classes, including stocks and futures.

The integration with MT5 allows BingX users to activate their BingX MT5 accounts and trade futures directly from MT5’s user-friendly interface. This seamless connection optimizes the trading process, leveraging cutting-edge innovations from the world of traditional finance. Users can expect a safe and stable trading experience on cryptocurrencies like BTC and ETH, accompanied by advanced analysis tools for quantitative trading and customized functions.

By tapping into the MT5 platform, BingX not only enhances the trading experience for its existing user base but also opens the door for forex traders on MT5 to easily enter the world of cryptocurrencies. This integration provides a smooth transition for forex traders, allowing them to explore the crypto market with ease.

The partnership with AstraBit and the integration with MT5 demonstrate BingX's efforts in driving the business forward. Those efforts are further evidenced by a decision taken by the firm earlier this month to expand outside of its Southeast Asia base market into the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).

Japan’s ODX to commence digital securities trading in December

Japan’s ODX to commence digital securities trading in DecemberOsaka Digital Exchange (ODX) is set to commence security token trading with Ichigo’s real estate assets, marking yet another milestone in Japan’s evolving digital asset landscape.Photo by note thanun on UnsplashDecember 25 ‘START’ODX’s Proprietary Trading System (PTS), named “START,” is scheduled to commence operations on Dec. 25, as announced in a Nov. 20 statement. This development follows the approval from Japan’s Financial Service Agency (FSA) on Nov. 16 for ODX’s securities token proprietary trading system.A security token, essentially a digitized version of traditional securities, represents fractional ownership in real-world assets like equity, real estate, or company shares. ODX’s trading system aims to enhance liquidity and funding opportunities for securities token operations within the region, aligning with its broader vision of establishing a digital stock exchange to rival the Tokyo Stock Exchange.Established in 2021 by SBI Holdings and Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group (SMFG), ODX is poised to welcome Ichigo as its inaugural client on the START platform. Ichigo is a Japanese sustainable infrastructure firm based in Tokyo. Real estate is one of the sectors it is involved in, where it specializes in the renovation and improvement of existing buildings.Third security token launchThe real estate company has previously issued two security tokens and now plans to issue a new token, facilitating real estate investment opportunities for individuals. A company statement reveals that the new security token will invest in six strategically located rental residential properties with superior access to the city center. Bloomberg reported on Monday that Ichigo intends to sell approximately $20 million worth of securities backed by property investments, with trading set to commence on Dec. 25.The release of real estate-backed security assets will take place on Progmat, a Japan-regulated digital asset platform established in 2022 by Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) in collaboration with other Japanese banks. Progmat integrates blockchain technology with financial expertise to manage digital assets within the regulatory framework of Japan. As a consequence, MUFG will effectively be acting as custodian and security token issuer as part of this security token offering. SBI Securities will act as the lead underwriter of the project.Security tokens, subject to federal regulations, derive their value from external tradable assets and represent ownership in an enterprise or asset. The introduction of security token trading on ODX has the potential to enhance liquidity and streamline the investment process for individuals. However, with the initial offering of $20 million in securities, it is evident that Japan is cautiously exploring the demand for alternative forms of securities.SBI portfolio companyInitially, Japanese financial services conglomerate SBI Holdings had a 70% stake in ODX, with SMFG holding a 20% equity stake. Investment Bank Daiwa Securities and global financial services group Nomura made up the balance, with each having a 5% equity holding in the business. Those equity stakes have most likely been diluted as in September ODX confirmed that it had accepted equity participation from the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE), the largest U.S. options exchange platform, private equity firm Virtu Investments and proprietary trading firm and global market maker Optiver Principal Strategic Investments (PSI).

Malaysia Ushering in Fifth Digital Asset Exchange

Malaysia Ushering in Fifth Digital Asset ExchangeKuala Lumpur-headquartered crypto platform Hata has become the latest entrant in the local digital asset exchange (DAX) business, securing licensing and regulation from the Securities Commission Malaysia (SC).The brainchild of David Low, former Asia Pacific General Manager at Luno, Hata Digital Sdn Bhd, is now the recipient of conditional approval from the SC, enabling it to facilitate cryptocurrency trading once it fulfills the regulator’s stipulated requirements over the next six to nine months. The firm now joins Luno Malaysia, MX Global, Sinegy DAX, and Tokenize Technology to become the fifth regulated DAX to trade within the Southeast Asian country.Photo by Esmonde Yong on UnsplashFirst digital brokerOne interesting aspect of Hata’s approval is that it also marks the first DAX to receive digital broker status from the SC. This unique status allows Hata to display trade orders from other exchanges on its website or mobile application, giving users access to a broader spectrum of trading opportunities.Hata can match its users’ trades with those available on other exchanges or provide them with cryptocurrency prices from these exchanges. However, it is essential that the exchanges Hata collaborates with are licensed by authorities in “competent jurisdictions,” such as the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), and gain approval from the SC.Low shared his vision, stating:“With the goal of challenging the existing norms, we plan to make digital assets investing easier for institutional investors, businesses, and high-net-worth individuals in Malaysia. And we look forward to launching the platform soon.”Luno competitorLow’s departure from Luno adds an intriguing dynamic to Malaysia’s digital asset industry, given his pivotal role in expanding Luno’s presence in Malaysia and Southeast Asia. At the time of his departure, Luno was widely acknowledged to have commanded over 90% of the local cryptocurrency trading market share, with some estimating it as high as 98%.Low is now stepping into the realm of competition with his former colleagues and company, where he had previously invested significant effort and resources to foster growth.Hata boasts two other Co-Founders, Darien Ng, Chief Revenue Officer, and Chong Kwai Kun, Chief Technology Officer, both with extensive expertise in blockchain technology and software development in Malaysia since 2018.Low stated that the “SC’s decision to grant us conditional approval to operate a DAX represents a vote of confidence in us and the digital asset industry. This is a significant milestone for my team and I at Hata, after months of extensive efforts.”One-stop crypto platformHe continued: “Hata wants to enable safe and effortless cryptocurrency access and we look forward to being a one-stop and reliable platform for our customers, with our suite of products and services.”Low emphasized their goal of challenging existing norms, making digital asset investing more accessible to institutional investors, businesses, and high-net-worth individuals in Malaysia. The exchange’s founder also commended the SC’s efforts in expanding the regulated market operator framework to allow DAXs to operate as digital brokers. In addition, Hata has obtained a money broker license from the Labuan Financial Services Authority, reinforcing its efforts to operate as a compliant and secure platform.

MANTRA snags VASP license in Dubai

MANTRA, a real-world asset (RWA) tokenization blockchain project headquartered in Hong Kong, has announced that it has been awarded a Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) license in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). In a community update published on its website, MANTRA co-founder and CEO John Patrick Mullin outlined that Dubai regulator, the Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA), had awarded the company the VASP license, meaning that the project is now entitled to act as a virtual asset exchange. Additionally, it is authorized to offer broker-dealer and investment management services. Photo by Aleksandar Pasaric on PexelsMullin claimed that the milestone is huge for both the company and the broader industry. He stated:”It’s a major step in our objective to bring the world’s financial ecosystem onchain by being the preferred ledger of record for real world assets. It’s a validation of our purpose, which is to provide developers and institutions with a purpose-built RWA Layer 1 Blockchain, that’s capable of adhering to real world regulatory requirements.” Scaling operations in the Middle EastThe project sees the license as a key step in broadening MANTRA’s global footprint and scaling its operations within the Middle East. Mullin outlined that both the UAE and broader Middle East & North Africa (MENA) have become “a progressive global hub and thriving ecosystem for Web3 and virtual assets owing to their regulatory initiatives and frameworks.” Mullin added that the license not only strengthens the project’s presence regionally, but it also “positions us internationally to deliver unique DeFi products that bridge the gap between decentralized finance and traditional finance.”  Shorooq Partners, a Dubai-based venture capital firm and investor in the project, commented on the announcement on X. It said that the license would mean that MANTRA would set a new standard for compliant and secure DeFi solutions. It emphasized the importance of regulatory compliance in enabling institutional DeFi adoption on a global scale. The venture capital firm was the lead investor in an $11 million funding round completed by MANTRA in March 2024. At the time, Shane Shin, founding partner at Shorooq, said that he liked MANTRA’s strategic focus on key markets like Hong Kong and Dubai, adding that the investment implicated a future where digital and traditional assets converge seamlessly. The project intends to launch DeFi-based products that have been formulated to meet investors' needs by combining the benefits of DeFi with the structure and security provided by conventional finance. Token's price performanceThe OM token is a utility and governance token within the MANTRA decentralized autonomous organization (DAO). It was the best-performing layer-1 token as of Feb. 17. At the time of writing, it’s trading at $7.59, according to CoinMarketCap data. The project also announced a $1 billion deal with UAE-based DAMAC Group, a property development company, last month.
