Revolutionizing user experience

The collaboration, announced via a blog post published by BingX on Monday, aims to revolutionize the crypto trading experience by combining BingX’s robust platform with AstraBit’s cutting-edge technology.

AstraBit empowers BingX users with total control over risk and exposure in their trades through automated trading strategies powered by artificial intelligence and machine learning. Users can leverage AstraBit’s technology to customize and hyper-personalize their trading strategies, maximizing their trading potential in the dynamic crypto market. AstraBit-powered bots follow preset instructions, but users have the flexibility to adjust parameters such as stop loss and take profit at any time, even in the middle of a trade.

Security measures

To ensure the highest level of security, AstraBit operates 24/7, utilizing two-factor authentication (2FA) and implementing advanced security measures such as machine learning intrusion detection systems and anti-ransomware software. Importantly, AstraBit cannot withdraw funds from users’ wallets, providing an additional layer of protection.

Elvisco Carrington, PR and Communications Director at BingX, expressed excitement about the partnership, stating: “The integration with AstraBit helps revolutionize the crypto trading experience. By combining BingX’s robust platform with AstraBit’s cutting-edge technology, we are empowering our users to maximize their trading potential and achieve greater success in the dynamic crypto market. This partnership aligns perfectly with our commitment to delivering excellence and driving the industry forward.”

MT5 integration

In addition to the collaboration with AstraBit, BingX made headlines earlier this year by announcing its direct integration with MetaTrader 5 (MT5), making it one of the first crypto platforms to connect with the world’s most popular trading platform. MT5 offers advanced features, including a wide range of technical indicators, depth of market (DOM) functionality, and support for trading on multiple exchanges. It is known for its versatility, supporting various asset classes, including stocks and futures.

The integration with MT5 allows BingX users to activate their BingX MT5 accounts and trade futures directly from MT5’s user-friendly interface. This seamless connection optimizes the trading process, leveraging cutting-edge innovations from the world of traditional finance. Users can expect a safe and stable trading experience on cryptocurrencies like BTC and ETH, accompanied by advanced analysis tools for quantitative trading and customized functions.

By tapping into the MT5 platform, BingX not only enhances the trading experience for its existing user base but also opens the door for forex traders on MT5 to easily enter the world of cryptocurrencies. This integration provides a smooth transition for forex traders, allowing them to explore the crypto market with ease.

The partnership with AstraBit and the integration with MT5 demonstrate BingX's efforts in driving the business forward. Those efforts are further evidenced by a decision taken by the firm earlier this month to expand outside of its Southeast Asia base market into the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).

Crypto Exchange Bithumb’s Operator Closing Businesses

Crypto Exchange Bithumb’s Operator Closing BusinessesBithumb Korea, the operator of a major South Korean cryptocurrency exchange, has been streamlining its businesses in response to its ongoing struggle to generate profits.Photo by Tim Mossholder on PexelsAccording to a report by local news outlet Business Watch, Bithumb Systems, a tech solution subsidiary of Bithumb Korea, has recently ceased operations. Bithumb System was launched in March of last year with the aim of advancing blockchain and exchange technology. However, due to the decline in the crypto industry and challenges in profitability, the company had to undergo liquidation. An official from Bithumb Korea explained that the decision to close its tech solution arm was made in order to prioritize improving the competence of the exchange amidst the changing landscape of domestic and foreign markets.Other affiliates of Bithumb Korea are also facing difficulties. For instance, Bithumb Live, an e-commerce platform jointly established by Bithumb Korea and content production firm Bucket Studio, has been on hiatus since October last year. The platform incurred a net loss of 10 billion KRW ($7.75 million). Bithumb Korea, holding 37.5% of Bithumb Live’s shares, invested 6 billion KRW ($4.65 million) into the platform in 2021. Bithumb Korea recognizes these investment losses using the equity method.Additionally, Bithumb META, despite raising the highest amount of funds among its sister affiliates, has encountered challenges in making much progress since its establishment last year. Its NFT marketplace, Naemo Market, is still without a mobile application, and the introduction of its metaverse platform is still pending. Although Bithumb META managed to attract 9 billion KRW in investments last March from esteemed companies such as LG CNS, CJ OliveNetworks, and SK Square, it incurred a loss of 7 billion KRW ($5.4 million) in 2022.Furthermore, earlier this month, it was reported that the exchange closed its research center due to a decline in trading volume, despite its importance in assisting investors to make better-informed decisions.A representative from Bithumb stated that the company is actively seeking new sources of revenue through its mobile Wallet platform operator, Rotonda, and Bithumb META. However, given the market slowdown, Bithumb is now compelled to prioritize enhancing the competence of the exchange.

Euroclear takes stake in Marketnode entering Asian market

Euroclear, a Belgium-based financial services company that specializes in post-trade services relative to the clearing and settlement of securities, has announced that it has invested in Singaporean digital market infrastructure firm Marketnode. The investment, which the firm announced via a press release published to its website on Oct. 17, is the company’s first in the Asian market. Established with a distributed ledger technology (DLT)-based financial infrastructure, Marketnode offers its services via two distinct platforms. The company claims that through its Gateway platform it offers a one-stop issuance, data, workflows and tokenization services.  Meanwhile, Fundnode streamlines fund transactions, processing and record-keeping, while using blockchain technology in doing so. Euroclear’s CEO for the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, Philippe Laurensy, set out the company’s thinking in making this strategic investment, stating: “Partnering with Marketnode demonstrates our shared commitment to developing a new generation of funds market infrastructure by leveraging Euroclear’s global footprint, established fund infrastructure and digital capabilities. This first strategic investment in Asia also reinforces the region’s importance to Euroclear’s positioning and business growth. We are excited to join Marketnode’s pioneering journey in the rapidly growing area of digital assets and support the company’s international service expansion.”Photo by Thomas Somme on UnsplashProminent backersMarketnode is backed by Temasek and the Singapore Exchange Group (SGX), having been established in 2021 as a joint venture by the two firms. Notable financial firms such as Citi, HSBC, Deutsche Bank and State Street joined the pilot phase of Marketnode’s Fundnode platform in 2022.  Back in May, HSBC doubled down on its involvement, leading Marketnode’s Series A investment round. HSBC also partnered with Marketnode and Singaporean bank UOB in 2023, in the build-out of an end-to-end, issuance-to-distribution wealth management product infrastructure, run on blockchain rails. That project formed part of Project Guardian, a collaborative initiative led by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), designed to explore tokenization and network interoperability. Marketnode CEO Rehan Ahmed spoke about what this latest investment means for the company. He stated: “Euroclear’s global connectivity, operational expertise and market-leading position as a trusted financial market infrastructure will catalyse the growth of Marketnode’s platforms, especially Fundnode.” Ongoing blockchain interestWhile this may be Euroclear’s first foray into the Asian market, it’s not its first step into the world of blockchain and tokenization. The European clearinghouse launched a tokenized securities issuance service in 2023. The Digitally Native Notes (DNN) service enables the issuance, distribution and settlement of fully digital international securities, running on R3’s Corda blockchain. The first DNN was issued using the system by the World Bank, raising €100 million to finance its sustainable development activities. Earlier this month, it emerged that Euroclear, alongside the World Gold Council and international law firm Clifford Chance, had collaborated on a pilot project led by real-world asset (RWA) tokenization firm Digital Asset. The project concerned itself with the tokenization of UK bonds (gilts), Eurobonds and gold, using the Canton Network protocol.

KCC sets guidelines for user protection on metaverse platforms

KCC sets guidelines for user protection on metaverse platformsThe Korea Communications Commission (KCC) has established its latest guidelines for ensuring the protection and safety of users of metaverse platforms, dubbed the “Basic Principles for the Protection of Metaverse Users”.Photo by GuerrillaBuzz on UnsplashNavigating the metaverse landscapeAlthough metaverse platforms can create new economic and business opportunities by linking reality with the virtual realm and providing users with a realistic and immersive experience, the agency argued that various problems may arise due to the use of anonymous profiles or avatars. In response, the KCC assembled six voluntary principles for metaverse service providers to apply to their operations through discussions with a policy advisory group for metaverse ecosystem user protection. The group is composed of 29 members, including academics, legal experts and domestic and overseas companies. It has been active since last year.Fostering ethical metaverse environmentsThe principles cover topics like ensuring free yet respectful communication between users; granting users a platform for voicing their opinions on issues related to their rights and interests; and ensuring that transactions involving digital products and services are conducted on proper terms. They also urge companies to give users the right to use and manage their own data along with that of the metaverse. On a less technical level, the last principle mentions that companies should make efforts to study the long-term impact of the metaverse on users’ physical and mental health, and on society, culture, environment and economy. The agency has also proposed to draft a code of practice outlining more specific measures to protect users, such as prohibiting sexual harassment and stalking, reporting and punishing cyberbullying and transferring the right to purchase NFTs.Responsible governanceMajor metaverse platform operators like Naver, SKT and Meta, who are members of the agency, agreed to apply the guidelines and include them in their relevant terms and conditions documents and service operation regulations. The KCC stated that it plans to monitor whether or not these commitments are met.Although not mandatory, the guidelines are recommended as measures to resolve user inconvenience, enhance service reliability and provide standards for user protection. User protection includes that of children, adolescents and personal privacy.
