Dragonfly Capital managing partner Haseeb Qureshi said crypto is needed more by people than by AI agents, contrary to forecasts earlier this year that AI agents would broadly adopt crypto payments. According to ChainCatcher, Qureshi made the remarks while attending the Token2049 conference in Singapore. Qureshi said existing payment networks such as credit cards are already available to AI agents, so crypto is not separately necessary for them. Instead, Qureshi said AI agents could help people use crypto with greater confidence by filtering out mistakes like a bank would. Qureshi also argued that as AI sharply lowers the cost of surveillance and physical attacks increase, crypto and private AI could become a last line of defense for reclaiming privacy against state power.

Bitcoin has maintained a $83,000-$87,000 range formed over the past two weeks, keeping intact a stair-step uptrend seen over the past several months, according to a CoinDesk analysis. Vikram Subburaj, CEO of Indian crypto exchange Giottus, said holding $83,000 would mean selling pressure has not been strong enough to push the price back to the previous range of $76,000-$81,500. Subburaj added that if Bitcoin remains consistently below $82,000-$83,000, it could slide to $80,000-$81,500. Meanwhile, Alex Kuptsikevich, chief market analyst at FxPro, identified $84,000 as a support level and said a break below it could lead to a further decline toward $80,000. According to CoinMarketCap, BTC was trading at $83,960.71, down 2.35%.

Jake Chervinsky, CEO of the Hyperliquid Policy Center, said at Digital Asset Summit 2026 Asia in Singapore that all exchanges, including CME Group and Intercontinental Exchange, the parent of the New York Stock Exchange, should adopt public blockchain infrastructure within the next decade to remain competitive. Chervinsky said Hyperliquid is not an exchange but infrastructure that sits a layer below exchanges in the technology stack. Hyperliquid’s vision, Chervinsky said, is to upgrade the technology so the broader financial system uses public blockchains as its base infrastructure. Chervinsky added the on-chain market is likely to enter the U.S. regulatory framework before long, and said public chains and decentralization offer resilience, security and transparency, while lower costs and faster speeds can improve the traditional financial system.

About 60% of Bitcoin supply excluding coins dormant for more than 10 years has remained in profit since August, according to a CryptoQuant analysis by contributor Darkfost. In a post on X, Darkfost said long-dormant holdings should be excluded for a more realistic view of the market because their unrealized gains are large, liquidity is low, and a significant share may have been lost. Darkfost added that more than half of the remaining BTC supply has moved back into profit, but the market still appears far from overheated over the medium to long term. Darkfost also said investors now face a choice between continuing to hold positions kept for nearly a year, taking profits, or exiting with limited losses. Sideways price action around current levels is also natural, Darkfost said, adding that the next move will depend on whether demand or supply takes the upper hand.

Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson said on X that Midnight (NIGHT) was nowhere to be seen at the Cardano Foundation booth at the ongoing Token2049 event in Singapore, adding that it felt like "Where's Waldo" and arguing the ecosystem's biggest project was not being shown anywhere. Hoskinson added that the Foundation may have chosen not to display Midnight because of its privacy focus. He said the booth was a public asset funded by the Cardano community and represented the Cardano ecosystem, adding that it was backed by community money. The remarks come as parts of the Cardano community have recently raised questions about Hoskinson's responsibility. Hoskinson previously pushed back, saying he was not responsible for sluggish growth in the Cardano ecosystem and did not hold a formal leadership role or a title such as CEO because Cardano is a decentralized network.

An index tracking the top 200 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization has risen just 5% since October 2021, Jamie Coutts, a crypto analyst at financial research firm Real Vision, said on X. Coutts said the crypto market has effectively moved sideways for five years. While the index had been on a long-term trend of rising about 35% annually since 2017, it is now sitting 35% below that trendline, Coutts said. Coutts added that the issue was not a lack of demand, but that newly issued coin supply had offset demand. Annual new supply growth has fallen to 3.3% from 26.5%, payouts to coin holders have increased fivefold, and demand is also showing signs of rebounding, according to Coutts, who described the current period as crypto's "payback" era.

Dominion, a Solana-based tokenized silver project, announced it is shutting down after a security incident in September led to the theft and sell-off of a large amount of SILV tokens, collapsing liquidity. The project said the attack also caused losses to operating funds and damaged the market structure, leaving the capital needed to rebuild beyond its remaining resources. Dominion said it will direct most of its remaining liquidity to a reimbursement program and allow eligible users who held SILV before the attack to redeem and liquidate their tokens at $63 each. SILV is a token designed to be backed one-to-one by physical silver, with each token representing one troy ounce of silver.
