The Asia-Pacific region accounted for 51.2% of global stablecoin payment volume, making it the largest market, according to a CoinDesk Research analysis.
CoinDesk Research said stablecoin use is expanding beyond trading into payments, corporate treasury management and settlement, while moves are also gaining traction across the region to apply stablecoins to real financial services within established regulatory frameworks. USDT’s share of stablecoin payment volume in APAC fell to 91% in July 2026 from 98% in early 2025, indicating a gradual easing of concentration in the token. The analysis added that for compliance-focused stablecoins such as RLUSD to see broader use, distribution networks need to expand, custody support needs to be in place, and practical use cases need to grow in regulated financial sectors.

CoinMarketCap’s Altcoin Season Index came in at 37, down three points from yesterday.
The index is calculated by comparing the price performance of Bitcoin with that of the top 100 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization, excluding stablecoins and wrapped coins. A reading is considered altcoin season when 75% of the top 100 coins have outperformed Bitcoin over the past 90 days; the opposite is considered Bitcoin season. The closer the index is to 100, the more it indicates altcoin season.

Spot CVD is an order book analysis chart for the BTC/USDT spot trading pair. The upper section shows the volume heatmap, while the lower section represents cumulative volume delta, or CVD.
- The volume heatmap in the upper section tracks trading volume at each price level. The background color becomes brighter when the price stays in a specific range for an extended period or moves sharply. Areas closer to brighter colors may act as support or resistance.
- The cumulative volume delta indicator in the lower section reflects buy and sell orders by capital size. The line for a given color rises as buy orders increase. The yellow line is based on $100 to $1,000 orders, while the brown line is based on large orders of $1 million to $10 million, among others.

U.S. Democratic Sen. Elissa Slotkin said on X that Slotkin voted against a procedural Senate vote to advance deliberations on the CLARITY Act, citing insufficient ethics provisions addressing public officials’ crypto-related conflicts of interest.
Slotkin said the current bill does not place adequate limits on crypto-related interests involving President Donald Trump, Trump’s family and administration officials. Slotkin also said stronger national security provisions are needed to block illicit financial flows tied to money laundering, terrorist financing, North Korea and Iran, and added that agencies including the Commodity Futures Trading Commission need stronger oversight authority and sufficient staffing to enforce the bill.

Strive CEO Matt Cole said in an interview with Bitcoin Magazine that Bitcoin could deliver average annual returns of about 50% through 2030.
Cole said the dollar could face downward pressure if the U.S. Federal Reserve and Treasury intervene to suppress long-term interest rates, which could drive a sharp rise in scarce asset prices. In that scenario, Cole said, Bitcoin could outperform gold.

Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse said the outcome of the Senate vote on the Clarity Act was deeply disappointing, but added he remains optimistic about the future of cryptocurrency in the U.S.
In a post on X, Garlinghouse said Ripple had made every effort to secure passage of the Clarity Act, describing it as an opportunity not just for Ripple or any single company but for the broader industry, consumers, and the U.S. to strengthen its position as a global crypto hub and a leader in the future of finance. He added, however, that consumers and U.S. competitiveness were ultimately pushed aside and said a post-mortem on the failure is needed.
Garlinghouse also said the future of U.S. crypto remains positive, adding that the SEC and CFTC will continue working on rules to fill the legislative gap and that Ripple will actively take part in the rulemaking process.

A cloture vote in the U.S. Senate to advance the CLARITY Act, a bill on crypto market structure, failed, after which Republican Sen. Cynthia Lummis said Democratic senators had shown today they were not genuinely interested in consumer protection or preserving U.S. leadership.
In a post on X, Lummis said Democrats shifted their demands during negotiations with Senate Democrats for more than a year and changed the terms as soon as Republicans met those demands. Lummis also said Democrats voted against U.S. leadership and handed overseas competitors, including China, what they wanted. Lummis further argued Democrats once again put politics ahead of the American people and yielded to what Lummis described as a radical socialist base, calling the Democratic Party anti-American.
Meanwhile, Crypto In America host Eleanor Terrett said Cynthia Lummis, whom Terrett described as a key architect of the CLARITY Act, did not speak with reporters immediately after the vote.

After a cloture vote to advance the CLARITY Act failed on the U.S. Senate floor, Democratic Sen. Angela Alsobrooks said the bill would not be derailed, according to Eleanor Terrett, host of the U.S. podcast 'Crypto in America.'
Alsobrooks added, "7000만 명이 넘는 미국인이 규제되지 않는 산업에 참여하고 있다. 우리에게는 이를 규제할 책임이 있다" and argued Republican leaders forced today’s vote while refusing to hold President Donald Trump accountable over what Alsobrooks described as corruption in the crypto industry. Alsobrooks said Republicans were playing political games. In May, Alsobrooks was one of two Democratic senators on the Senate Banking Committee who voted to move the CLARITY Act to the full Senate for debate, but voted against it in this round.
