Strive CEO Matt Cole said the Bitcoin bear market has ended and voiced optimism on BTC’s price outlook over the next 12 to 18 months. In a post on X, Cole said the BTC/gold chart had been a strong leading indicator for Bitcoin’s price over the past two years, with BTC topping against gold in December 2024 but reaching its peak in U.S. dollar terms only in October 2025. Cole added that Bitcoin bottomed against gold in February this year, while its U.S. dollar low came in July, and said the clear shift into an uptrend against both the dollar and gold convinced Cole the bear market was over. Cole added that the U.S. dollar’s long-term weakness, currency debasement and growing demand for scarce assets amid the spread of AI would act as structural tailwinds for BTC. Cole said stronger BTC returns than gold would likely draw more capital into Bitcoin from the scarce-asset market, and added the next Bitcoin cycle could be stronger than ever.

Dunamu, the operator of South Korean crypto exchange Upbit, has completed practical preparations for a U.S. listing, including a recent switch of its financial statements to U.S. GAAP, The Chosun Daily reported, citing investment banking industry sources today. The company is pursuing a U.S. listing without relocating the entire business to the United States, according to the report. Sources said Dunamu has ruled out a “flip” structure under which it would set up a U.S. holding company and place the South Korean entity under it as a subsidiary. In such a structure, existing shareholders would exchange shares in the South Korean entity for shares in the U.S. holding company.

Tether has halted a roughly $120 million Bitcoin mining project in Uruguay, The Block reported. The project had been seen as a first step in expanding across the broader South American market, but the effort was scrapped amid a contract dispute between Tether and Uruguay’s state power company UTE. The two sides disagreed over the amount of electricity to be supplied to two mining facilities under the contract. Tether interpreted the agreed power volume as a minimum supply level that could be increased later, while UTE viewed it as a ceiling that could not be exceeded. The parties later tried to revise the contract terms to resolve the dispute, but no agreement was reached after Tether representatives did not attend the signing meeting for the amended contract.

Bitcoin’s relative strength index, or RSI, has climbed to 84-86, pushing BTC into its strongest overbought zone in nearly two years since November 2024. After breaking out of its recent $62,000-$71,000 range, BTC surged as much as 12% in one to two days and at one point came close to $80,000. More than $3 billion in short positions were liquidated over 24 hours during the move, accelerating the rally.
